Lucas grew up in the town of Napa in the beautiful wine country in Northern California. He went to school at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA and earned a BS in Industrial Technology with a minor in packaging. Yes, packaging. As a kid Lucas dabbled in a lot of sports including surfing, snowboarding, BMX and mountain biking. After transitioning to the road Lucas spent time in Belgium with the U.S. U23 National team. By 2008 he had made it to the ProTour with the Garmin-Slipstream team. That year he was struck by a car in a near fatal accident in Girona, Spain, while training. He had a broken kneecap and his career as a professional cyclist was in doubt. Lucas used SpiderTech tape extensively in his rehab process and joined the team in 2010. He’s living proof the tape works!
