Boivin leads SpiderTech squad at Tour du Limousin

Boivin top SpiderTech rider as Tour du Limousin opens in France

The Tour du Limousin, a category UCI 2.HC race, began today at Limoges in France with 115 cyclists from 15 pro cycling teams from around the world taking to the start line. The Tour de Limousin will be held over the next four days and cyclists will travel a total distance of 712 kilometres to complete the race.

During this first stage, a 165.9 km trek between Limoges and Guéret, Guillaume Boivin of SpiderTech powered by C10 was the best Canadian to finish with a 22nd place, trailing the leader’s time by 21 second posted by Bjorn Leukemans of Vacansoleil –DCM, a team racing on the WorldTour. Svein Tuft finished with the same time as his teammate Boivin and crossed the line in 31st position.

Tomorrow, riders will travel 184.4 km, the longest stage of the tour, between Saint-Hilaire Peyroux and Allassac.
