Quebec Championships – getting ready for Tour of Missouri

It’s been a while since my last participation to the Quebec Championships.  This season, I have decided to use the championships to help my preparation for the Tour of Missouri which the Team will participate to in less than 2 weeks.  The individual time trial is the ultimate stage that will define the GC of the Tour.  Therefore it was important for me to give my 110% along the 23km of the soloist event at the Quebec Championships; to see where I was at in my preparation.The out-and-back course seemed easy to managed, but with all the hills and rhythm changes; it was much harder than anticipated to keep my speed and a constant effort.   I crossed the finished line with the winning time of 28 minutes and 48 seconds, of an average speed just over 48km/h.   With some adjustments over the next few days, it will permit me to offer a top performance on Stage 5 of the Tour of Missouri.  September 7-13 , 2009 www.tourofmissouri.com
