Hitting up the gravel roads…

So the last few days haven’t been the ideal for getting out the door and training on the road; they’re either wet from the melting snow or very slippery with snow that is still falling. Combined with the poor visability, it doesn’t create the safest “office” for us to work out of.  So what does that leave? some time on the trainer? yeah, but not too much for this guy. Maybe a little gym work or cross training? yup, a bit of that too, but it’s still important to get some more time on the bike. To do this I’ve been taking advantage of the gravel roads in my area. Today I spent 3 hours criss-crossing over a small area yet not hitting any of the same sections twice. It really is a great sometimes for a change of scenery, next to no traffic, (although I did almost get run off into the shoulder by a snowplow) and also to help out those bike handling skills.  Before I knew it, the ride was over and my feet, face and hands were still intact, not always the easiest thing to acheive in the winter.
